    My hen hatched 18 chicks and found this one under the bunch when I went to separate mom and babies from everybody. Is this normal? Anyway to help? Can’t stand, seems to not be using one foot.

    I have a hen sitting on 8 eggs right now, I’ve been interested in adding more chicks soon but don’t have a place to keep them right now. If I were to buy chicks and put them in with her would she still sit on her 8 and successfully hatch some?

    I just have her some tuna, she’s up and walking around in the box and making noises this morning. Will check her eye out and clean it here shortly after I get my son fed. Plan to go by tractor supply to grab ointment and some feed until we can figure out what to do since no owners are stepping...

    Not really sure about that, it’s clear my dog isn’t good with chickens now. Which is strange cause she doesn’t bother our goats or mini horses.

    I’m not sure every time I go to check she’s just sitting there, I’m keeping up with her my dog who’s still going crazy and my 6 month old until hubby gets home. She’s moving her legs to scratch when I pick her up but it’s clear she’s not got much energy to put up a fight.

    All of our closets are carpet and our only bathroom with a door is where the dog sleeps at night.

    Other eye is fine, don’t see any other wounds, I’m scared to put it back down on the ground cause I’m not sure if I’ll be able to catch it again and if I can’t catch it my dog will probably get it again unless it makes its way back out of my fence.

    I did clean it up with warm water earlier, will do so again now, i can probably get something from farm store in the morning if owners aren’t found.

    I have goat nutri drench is that the same? We aren’t equipped to deal with chickens, we had ducks years ago and that’s the only experience I have with birds. Also not sure if it’s a male or female.

    It’s in a box with water, it’s just been sitting there. Asked the 4 neighbors around me that I know, also posted on our local lost and found page. Will give till tomorrow if it’s still alive and maybe see if shelter will take it.
