    Any guesses on breed?

Is there a farm or feed supply other that TSC around you? I have a few as I'm in the rural beef country. I started my chicken addiction from a local feed store....if I can wait 5 days I can almost pick anything I want.

    What breed is this

This is "Spike" . It was Cornflake, but after an injury and rehab she just followed us along with the dog soooo.

Nope, she's a two year old Amerucauna nothing but blue eggs. She's bearded too.

    What breed is this

I have a beautiful proven Amerucauna, the coloring is vaguely close to mine but....I have Brahmas too and that neck almost tells me there's a mix.

    Any guesses on breed?

Yes, they do. Including the pattern down on the leg section.

Hen not putting weight on legs.

Someone else may have a much better handle on that but I have seen sprains that have produced some stiffness but not like as you describe. If it's moving I would definitely isolate her for at least a few days. Watch your remaining chickens for signs of anything odd. Be careful not to overreact...

    Any guesses on breed?

Ehhh, I'm not too sure about the Bantam part. I really don't see TSC with anything exotic, at least mine doesn't during "Chick days" Our first chickens included Silver Laced Wyandottes and both looked really close @ months old.

    Chickens as House Pets?

Welcome to BYC. I never had chickens living in my house but had a silkie that got battered by a roo to the point of needing nursing. Heat lamp...own beach towel...I swear she was calling for Raul to fetch her a cocltail and sunglasses...it was fun to have her getting well in the house...getting...

    Post your FIRST EGG pics!

Holy smokes! This isn't my first egg (and I didn't know this thread existed until now) but I almost have sympathy for my poor Austrolorpe that laid this. Just to give you a perspective...

Does this mean she loves me??!?(Behavior)

You are definitely her Rooster! For her to be that close in the photo she trusts you without question. She's sayin' " YOU DA MAN!"

    Mixed breed chicks!

Gotta remember...I didn't write it to her so when she heard Dali...she thought Dolly Parton. ;-)

    Mixed breed chicks!

On a humorous note, my country born wife and I were going on vacation in Tampa/St. Petersburg area (my home town is Tampa) and she asked what we could do there? I said "I know, I'll take you to the Dali museum" ... She looked dead at me and said " in all the time you've known me, what in the...

    Brahma chicks

Oooooh! Those little critters would have a complex in my runs. My 4 month old girls, Snowball and Blizzard are probably tipping 5 lbs. now. I recently lost their roo to a neighborhood dog and have to settle for a buff roo. The breeder told me no light roos until year end. The other run is...

    Mixed breed chicks!

    Yeah, personally I think it's a shame.

    Mixed breed chicks!

I'm on my first attempt to intentionally cross breed my buff Polish rooster with my Easter eggers ...Why? I'm a fan of Salvador Dali. I think the coolest thing would be to have a chicken with a freaked out head dress and a mustache.

    Brahma chicks

Bantams in Brahmas might be cool. Never seen them though.

    Brahma chicks

Heh, heh , heh...we have a "regular chicken" run and I have my monster experiment in the other. Brahmas and Jersey Giants, I cook a very high protien diet, they all drink filtered and treated water....my wife keeps swearing I'm going to put an addition on the house with a roof that opens. Our...
