    Hen or roo?

    Hard to tell. Some hens have darker combs though the redness of it MAY suggest cockerel. All roosters crow at different ages. My 3 month old GLW rooster has not tried to crow yet, some crow as early as 3 days I've heard.

    hm, when they were chicks they Distinctly matched Ameraucana chicks... They resemble the more "modern" ameraucana. :)

    Barred rock rooster or hen

    Barred rock pullets will usually have thicker black stripes, appearing darker, while cockerels will have thicker white stripes, appearing lighter. :) Both of those seem to be more dark. :D

    Most defiantly a cockrel! If you look on his back you can see the long saddle feathers coming down. Very beautiful Fred though! Will make an excellent rooster. :)
