I guess I am hesitant to move The meanie in case they dont accept the silkie back either and then ive lost both. But honestly none of the other hens went near them except our mean orloff.
I have heard that as soon as blood is drawn you have to remove the chicken so they arent pecked to death (which I did). My only concern is will others pick at her if I remove the other. Or as long as she heals completely it shouldn't be a problem. I really haven't seen any of the other girls...
What would you do? Remove the silkie or remove the orloff. Even though I have had the orloff longer she has been difficult. The silkies are paired and feel bad removing one. I think I would have to adopt them both out.
PLEASE PLEASE HELP! First time chicken owner and am doing the best I can.
I adopted 2 silkies (11 months old - same age as my current girls) and introduced them to my current flock of 4, 1 month ago. My russian orloff has been going after them but particularly one. The first week we monitored...

She is hunched but standing rounded back and neck pulled in. Currently in towel sleeping on couch. She almost seemed off blanace and you can hold her any odd angle at the moment and...
Hi! I’m Meghan and I have had my girls since October 2017. I have 4 and love every second. Betty is a buff Orpington, Darla is a barred rock, Polina is a Russian orloff and Twiggy is an Easter egger.
I noticed immediately today my usual fiesty girl (who is the last one to be caught or picked up) was hunched under coop, standing but not moving. I went in and grabbed her and she was super docile (never before has she acted like this). Her crop wasn’t huge but hard and I started massaging and...
