These chicks are just over 4 weeks old, the two black ones are polish mixed with salmon faverolle and the yellow are pure salmon faverolle. Anything helps! There are two pictures of one of the black chicks, as numbered, but there are 6 chicks total.
Hello, these chicks are three weeks old, some much more developed than others, and I was just wondering if anyone could tell their sexes yet. They are salmon faverolles and each chick has a full body picture and a picture of just the wing ( there are 4 salmon faverolles ) also I know you can’t...
Hello, my chicks hatched one week ago today out of our incubator. All of them are doing perfectly fine, eating and drinking, and are very active. However one chick, is much smaller than the rest, always seems to be sleeping, and I haven’t seen it eat or drink but it could have while I wasn’t...
I haven’t candled because I don’t want to take them out of the incubator again. 7 Other chicks hatched just fine, a few were a little late. The temps stayed consistant through the whole thing and I’m positive I counted the days correctly.
I just did the water test on my last two eggs that didn’t hatch. I put one in and it seemed to be moving but it could have just been from the table being bumped. I did hear chirping from the egg but there is no peep. Do I need to help it??it’s day 24...
Hello, my name is Annie and Im super glad I found BYC!!:) I decided to try to hatch some farm fresh eggs I picked up a few weeks back, not even knowing if they were fertile or not. It was super random and I had never even looked into having chickens before then. We put 9 eggs into the incubator...
Everything will probably turn out okay, the chick is most likely just resting to try to heal the leg faster. To be safe and make sure there are no infections, you could take it to the vet to get it checked out if that would make you feel more confident in the chicks recovery... hope everything...
Can anyone tell if these chicks are boys are girls? The yellow ones are salmon faverolles and the black one is salmon faverolle mixed with white top polish if that helps at all.
Thanks for all the help! I ended up taking it out to assist, because I didn’t want to risk just letting it die. It started peeping super loud right when i started to help, I kept going until I saw one blood vessel... everything was super dried up until that point. Now it’s back in to incubator...
There are 4 already in the brooder, one hatched last night and is drying in the incubator, and there are 2 eggs with pips/hatching and 2 not. We had nine eggs total
I also don’t know if I should risk shrink wrapping the other pipped egg in the bator, or how to stop that from happening if I need to take the egg out the assist it.
Forgot to mention that it’s now day 23, and the first pip was over 24 hours ago on day 22. The unzip started around 15 hours ago. Any more advice?? I don’t want to do the wrong thing.
This chick started to unzip around 5 or 6 hours ago, it has not since made any progress, I can’t hear it chirp but it may just be the other chicks being loud in the incubator. The membrane has turned white but I can see it breathing. I don’t know what to do, HELP!!!
