Pounce first had a lump on his head, watery eyes, and rattle breath. My grandma and I put triple antibiotic on his head lump which decreased in size. We also built him a mini coop with a hot water bottle as a steamer which seemed to improve his watery eyes and breathing.
But then he started...
Thank you for your answers everyone. Unfortunately she died in her sleep. Could it have been too much amoxicillin or the infection and lack of food got to her. May Tiger RIP
Shes shaking her head more than usual because she doesn’t like being lifted but she does this when refusing food or water. It’s day 4 now, how do I get her to eat?
Hello everyone. My small dog stuck her head through the quail cage while I wasn’t around and bit one of my cortunix quail. She was bleeding a lot and had a bone near her wing which could be the humerus or maybe a rib sticking out. I put neonsporin on her and wrapped her wing going over the...
I checked her throat and all I saw was duck tongue. The coughing seems to have dramatically reduced (I didn’t hear her cough once) but her quacks sound kind of congested like a human voice.
Yeah she has a pool right there and it’s deep enough to dive. I’ve realized it sounds more like a cough. I saw that you could try VetRX or rub Vick’s Vaporrub on her beak, face, and wings to help clear her throat. Is there any other antibiotics that could help? She’s otherwise healthy. @casportpony
Thanks for your help, and Yeah she is doing it less often, but it’s still happening. I don’t know what exactly constitutes crumbled feed, but this is what it looks like.
And here’s another video. The repetitive sounds were weird buit’s been happening less.
Maggie has been making hiccuping sounds for a few minutes. She can still make normal duck sounds, it’s just sometimes interrupted with a high pitched sound. Here’s the link. Is it actually hiccups or something else? Also what would cause duck hiccups. Anything is appreciated. Thanks!
While I was treating Bumblefoot with an Epsom salt soak, amoxicillin on the scab, and Neosporn, I noticed a keel sore on my duck’s abdomen. It’s a new scab I’m sure is attributed to her bumblefoot, and is not that deep. I was thinking of putting a sock over her abdomen, is that a good idea...
I have White Layers, so they lay every day, and one just laid a soft egg today. They were pecking at it and broke the shell, but when cracked open there was dark red blood in the yolk. Is this normal or indicative of a disease or injury? Help would be appreciated, thanks.
She is a White Layer. And it is 81 degrees right now, which is not the hottest it’s been recently. My mallards pant, but with their mouths open. Stacy has her mouth closed.
