I have been giving them cracked corn but they are a little fatter, we ate and sold some at Christmas but hardly any meat on them. Their skin was very hard, could hardly cut them. And their eggs was like hard to crack open. Just trying to get rid of them nobody wants them/
I have skinny Turkeys too, I'v started to feed them cracked corn to fatten them up but they don't like the corn. Before i was feeding them Developer feeds. Difficult to get the proper feeds over here (Philippines).
My flock of turkeys are skinny but seem healthy. I ate two last week and not much meat on them.
I feed them extra protine and give them chicken feed as there's not any proper turkey food here were I live.
They are white heritage and about ten months old. How to fatten them please. I'm new to...
4 month old turkey not sure of sex, It's smaller than the others and just wants to sleep. When I leave food out, the others will eat but this one just sleeps. I noticed that one eye looks inflamed.
There are no lice in the feathers. I have separated this bird and put it in a small cage with food...
1 of my 5 month old poults has raised black spots on it's head, not sure if it's pox or Blackhead.
Its a little smaller than the rest but eats and drinks and seems healthy enough.
I will try and put a picture on.
They are Heritage turkeys, I put a fully grown hen with the 5 month old poults and at first the hen was chasing the poults but I of the tom poults squared up to her and chased her. The other adults, 2 toms they are aggressive and another hen is sat laying eggs.
I will wait another week are so...
Hi, I have 3 fully grown turkeys which I keep separate from my 5 month old poults. Also I have 7 week old poults which I keep in a small cage but they are getting too big for the cage and I'm limited where to put them all. Would it be safe to put the 7 week old poults with the 5 month old poults?
Update on the poults. They are thriving healthy and well. I have a second lot of poults that are all fine, 4 weeks old and have 1/2 week old, 14 of them but 2 died, Ants in their shell.
Update on the chicks, the first one that I pulled from the shell with all the ants, died. And the second one is not too good keeps chirping non stop and not eating or drinking.
The other two that i took from the hen are doing fine and healthy.
The ones that were hatched from the hen in January...
The chick I pulled from the shell is alive but has splayed legs, the second chick/egg was piping for 2 days and the ants had got in. I carefully removed the shell but the membrane had dried on the chick, still alive but very small.
Had a look at the hens sat on 21 eggs and 2 chicks, took the...
yeah, I meant to say incubator. The chick is very weak unable to lift its head up, can't drink or eat, been dipping its beak in some water. Its in a small brooder I will set the temperature to 90f.
Thank you.
I had to move the other eggs to a hen that's sat on some eggs. Big problem with ants they live in the walls. The chick is very week not able to lift its head up and the chick egg is alive but unable to get out of the shell.
There was a bit of blood, there's another 6 and one is trying to break the shell. brooder is set at 38.5c. Humidifier is at max. I have mover the brooder away from the ants. I have another clutch of eggs with 2 hens on the same nest, looks like they sharing because there's about 15 eggs.
