Maybe this has been answered before but I couldn't find it. I have a Bantam chick that seems a little swollen. It is also very lethargic. I was wondering if it maybe ate something it shouldn't -- like paper; and if so is there a way I can relieve this poor guy?
I agree - we have had both a Border Collie and an Aussie, and they are definately not apartment material. They love to run and play fetch, can be very destructive when bored, and they shed massive amounts of hair! Although I love Aussies - they need lots of space. Ours had a hard time with even...
Can a chick have multiple ruptures? We let the air out of one side last night and it seems she is developing one on the other side now...or maybe it was there last night and we just didn't see it because the other one was bigger.
And I have come to realize that it was my dog.....seems he is...
Thanks so much for the advice....it seems that that was what it was. The air just whooshed out of her. Do we need to do anything else? I put antibiotic cream over the opening.
I lost two chicks last night; I thought maybe they had been taken by an owl or something. But around lunch time they appeared (I think they were hiding in the wood pile). They seemed fine at first but then my leghorn now is beginning to swell. She feels like a big fluffy pillow all through her...
I have seen a feral cat be shot before and those things can move. Even if they die quickly, they get quite a distance before they do. I don't think I would worry too much about someone having dumped it there. If they did though, that is rather creepy.
I have heard that coons are notorious...
I will have to show this too my kids. I don't think they have any idea that chickens can be that freindly! That is the cutest chicken beautician I have ever seen!
I am relatively new to crocheting. My 12yr. old neice taught me! So I only know the basics; but what I would like to do most is make doll clothes for my daughters 18' doll. all I ever see is knitting patterns. Are there patterns for crochet like that?? And if there are, where would I find one?

Awww Dogs are much less wiggly than kids. Now when KiKi comes and sits on my lap, the serenity flies out the window real quick.
I can imagine...I had a Siamese once too. I also have a cat in my lap ,at the moment; who is growling aand swatting at the noisy, wiggly little kids!
So are dogs less wiggly than kids? Cause when I sit at the computer, I generally have a kid on the left and one on the right! And if I am looking at pictures of chicks, I also have two leaning over my back! Not quite as serene sounding, huh?
Yeah, I am wondering about this bra thing too.....they actually carried the egg around in their bra while wearing it? How didi they keep from bumping and breaking it?
I had a rattlesnake in my rabbit pen once; if my rabbit hadn't been btwn me and the snake, I would have been in big trouble! Every one survived...well, except the snake.

I don't think this is about taking sides. I don't think it's a good idea to label a dog with human issues such as right or wrong. I don't think dogs should be tied up all the time either. And I agree, if a dog can be trained to live in harmony with livestock, it should be done, but...
I think it is annoying how people automaticaly take the side of the animal on this sight. "Shame on all who own pets and ever find anything wrong with them". I am an animal lover, but animals have to have some manners. Yes, it is in dogs nature to eat chickens, but it is also in their nature...
