People say I'm getting crankier as I get older. That's not it. I just find I enjoy annoying people a lot more now. Especially younger people!!!
Haven't been on here in a long time. Spend a bit of time on the sister forum TEG.
I thought this might be something that others here would be interested in.
We have one female turkey that just reached the age where she started laying eggs, she would lay them anywhere she felt like. (our birds...

I would move out anything that I could. Go to pool store or big box hardware store and pick up a couple of bottles of liquid chlorine, then using a presure washer, siphoning the chlorine through the washer, I'd clean this thing out top to bottom.
Then a high press rinse, let dry, and...
I live a half hour west of St. L. and just finished up my garden planting on the 10th. Most everything I planted then has broke ground. If I were you I'd direct plant seeds and find me some plants at a garden centewr or where ever you can and get them in the ground also.

Why haven't you contacted a lawyer and have him plead this down to a non moving violation. I've done this a few times and never went to court. The only time I did go to court, I pleaded not guilty, all that did was get me a new court date for a jury trial. I then went and talked to a lawyer who...
Where did you get the brackets?

I don't normally say anything negative on here, but when some one who works for a govt. agency tells me how bad it is to do something I've been doing for a long, long time and it works fine for me, I have to say something
Every time you guys (The Govt) launches one of their Shuttles...
From my experience, you did the right thing. We have had very few broodie hens that have ever stayed with their chicks for very long. Usually it happens just as you said, keeping 1 or 2 with her and wandering off leaving the others to fend for themselves. About the only time they take a complete...
There has never been any bird I didn't like,UNTIL we got 6 guineas. They were a pest to all our other birds and made more noise than the law should allow. Found homes for all but one, he's not so bad, shows all the traits stated in the previous posts.

We use a Sharpie all the time on hatching eggs, we just never use an incubator, hens only!!! The only reason we mark the eggs is that other hens lay in the nest box the broodie is in and we only let her hatch one at a time. Our hatch rate has been 100% since we've used this method.

This one only lays in early spring. I eat the contents of the eggs.
If you look close at the pic of the egg you will see a small white spot at the very bottom, that is a hole I drilled, along with another one at the other end. I then use a wire bent in the shape of an L, insert it in...

Not really, this girl was raised from a hatchling and has never became real friendly. When she starts laying eggs, in the spring, and we go on a hunt to retrive them she will lie down and let you approach her and pet her, otherwise she is rather skitish, but not agressive.
