What automatic chicken coop door should I buy?

+1 for the Ador1. We have used one for year and half with no problems. Simple to install and maintain. I would buy another if I needed one. Spike

Prairie bluebell egger pullet or cockerel

I’ll try to get better wing pics later as those ones are 3 days old and this chick changed a little since then. I’ll open his/her wings so the rusty patterns are more visible. Thanks ahead

Prairie bluebell egger pullet or cockerel

hi I have a few 5 week old praire bluebell eggers amongst other breeds that were all sexed female. There is one bluebell in particular that I’m not sure of the sex. She/he still has a yellow comb, not big. If it wasn’t for her/his markings I would think female. I do have adult bluebells and...

    Pretty eggs

Very pretty eggs! You must be proud of your girls. Sounds like you know what you are doing to get such diverse colors. We are new to raising chickens, but we are beginning to reap the rewards of raising our chicks. Our girls are around 22 weeks and we are getting 6-7 eggs a day. This from our 15...

    First egg(s)!!!

Thanks for the tips! We’ll get rid of the rest of the pinestraw and try lessening the amount of shavings in theirs nestboxes and see if they take to them. We’re just excited they are starting to lay! Seems like a long time ago when they arrived as days old chicks

    First Egg Ever!!!!

Thats great! We opened up our nestboxes a couple weeks ago, and right after doing so, about half the flock wouldn’t go in the coop at night! I noticed early the next day that they slept on the high roosts in the run. Next night they tried the same stunt so I had to chase them in before the auto...

    First Egg Ever!!!!

Congrats! We know eggsactly how you feel, as we got our first eggs today. We found them outside in the run, and we don’t know which one of our 15 girls laid them. Can’t wait to see many more eggs in the future!! Spike

    First egg(s)!!!

We got our first egg today from one of our 4 month old girls. Very excited, however we found it outside the coop, under the nestbox on a pile of pinestraw. After we took it out to take pictures and admire the medium sized egg for way too long, we noticed the 2nd egg, also under the nestbox. It...

What kind of berry is this?

Thanks. We did google them and couldn’t find a positive ID. Did note a site that said if it’s red and in clusters, probably should avoid. Red solo berries probably not poisonous. I’m not going to try them any time soon, was just curious :thumbsup

I think I’m obsessed with my chickens

So we have just got into backyard chickens. We did the day-old shipping thing back in March. We started with 24, but thru negative chicken math, we are down to 15. We planned on doing two coops/runs, but after it took 8 weeks to finish just one, we decided to rehome 1/3 of our flock. Our...
