Hello all!
Right now my Silkie hen, Alice, Is broody! It's amazing, she's only been laying eggs for a few months now, and already broody! Just to be clear on things, I have two silkie hens, and a silkie rooster. Alice has been broody for about a week now.
I do have a few questions though...
1.I...
I Have a free Black silkie rooster FREE TO A GOOD HOME!!!! He's just under two months, gentle, loves to cuddle.
I live in Utah, and Willing to drive anywhere IN THE STATE, for a meet up, AND NO SHIPPING. Please, if you have the room in you coop please take him, I don't want to cull him! D:
Hmmm.
Mr. Rooster the Barred cochin bantam house rooster
Then I have five silkie babies,
Alice (white)
Eli (White)
Calypso (black)
Kryptonite (black)
Rosie (partridge)
Good luck on names!
"Are you going to give me treats or just stand there with that shiny flashy thingy? If not then I think I'll have to escort you out."
I love that name, and she's such a cute girly!
I'm no silkie expert, but I have a few silkies that were mixed too, and I think the beared ones have little "cheek fluff" They look like the chicks have fluffy cheeks.
But don't take my word. I'm not 100%
LOL Chickens are like potato chips. You always want ONE more!
Frizzles? I love frizzles! The breeder said she had frizzles but they weren't for sale, she was growing them up to breed. I think she told me just to tease me and so I
l'll come back in a few months. mmmhh. Maybe I will. I'll have...
Awww! Did you get them at My Pet Chicken? I think that Easter Egger (???) Should be named Jade. She just looks like A Jade to me. LOL Have fun with your babies!
Aren't they though?
I got them from a breeder two-three hours away. Since I only wanted a few and even at MPC; Since I live in a rural area, the minimum was eight. And I only wanted five; WELL I only wanted three. But the breeder told me she had a week older black babies. I couldn't resist...
yes! Monday I went up and got my silkie babies. Five of them, Two black two white and one "red" I think she's a partridge though. . . .
But I got them. My first silkies, ohhhh I'm in so much love right now! The black are a week older, but that's ok. So tiny!
I was worried about keeping...
Oh I know! He's so strange, he loves it sit, rather then prance his stuff off, Claimed a nest box, and doesn't let the other two hen sit in it. And He crows at lunch time and Around six o-clock rather then in the morning.
Such A strange little guy!
Does Guitar Hero count? LOL Probably not. I am trying to learn on a little acoustic Guitar though. All I can do is 'Mary had a little Lamb' Annnd. That's it.
ugh Finally I can post some pictures!
Sorry if they are bad quality. I really don't have the best camera. . .
It's so funny, He did this right when I said that the pillow was pink!
Sigh. He refuses to go out in the heat. And slept under my arm all last night. I think He's going to be...
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ROOSTERS. SWEETER THEN HENS!
Just to bad that they are illegal, Mr. Rooster is Illegal. huhuhh. Though if they weren't I would love to have a Black Sumatra Roo, and a Phoenix Roo. OH I could go on forever!
Mr. Rooster suddenly became a house chicken, I guess that's good since...
uhh Semi-legal. We can keep up to 15 chickens, but no roosters. . .Even though I have one as a pet. But I don't think our town is strict on it, since about a block away have more the fifteen chickens, and a bunch load of roosters. soooo. . . one little indoor banty can't hurt. LOL
Well, A few days ago the neighbors complained about Mr. Rooster, a barred cochin bantam rooster. So we said that we would keep him inside in a box until we know what to do with him. re-home him, you know? So he doesn't bother the neighbors.
A walked in yesterday, and there he was. On my bed...
