Chick food
I have 7 2 week old chicks. I ran out of chick starter food. (I know bad move on my part) I haven't had a chance to get to the store to buy food due to my work schedule. Is it safe to supplement with layer feed for a couple of days?- Steleona

I understand your concern. Ususally my niece will just hold the chick in her lap and pet it. It took a bit for even that to happen. But she is scared to actually hold them but likes having them in her lap. I dont remember my other flocks being this scared at all- Steleona

I have 5 approximately 3 week old chicks. How can i interact/handle them without them being so scared? Every time i open to coop to feed or water them they run. When i go to pick one up they run. Thank you. They were the only 2 dark colored chicks there (at least at the time). My son picked them out over all the others. I love the dark beaks and legs. Thank you for the advice. We lost our 2 drakes. 4th of July we woke up to a massacre. 5 out of 7 ducks got killed or were left for dead and died later. Very upsetting. They were about a month old.
