Attempting hatching after a bad hatch

a few days ago I went through a pretty traumatic hatch where only 2 out of 6 eggs hatched the rest bled out after hitting a blood vessel, didn’t fully absorb and one I believe suffocated after being unable to pip externally. I have the two chicks in the brooder and once they’re old enough to be...

Lockdown in pa- hova bator ?????s

I kept mine on their sides, as long as the fat end of the egg (where the air pocket is located) is clear it should be fine. Putting them in a egg carton just prevents the eggs from rolling around I think. Good luck anyway!

    Wild newborn baby bunny

Not 100% sure with wild rabbits but my Nan used to breed regular ones so this is what I know. Babies that are taken from the mother can often be rejected by the mother afterwards as there’s another scent on the baby. Little ones like that will need to be in a warm environment, in nature they’re...

    Are my eggs okay?

I did try putting some local eggs in the incubator at first but found out pretty early on that they were infertile. I don’t have the mobility to be able to have easy access to actually go out and ask farmers if they have any hatching eggs I can buy so at the time buying them online was easier for me

    Are my eggs okay?

In the future I’ll try local hatching eggs it shouldn’t be too difficult since where I live there are plenty of farmers. I’ll be back on this forum before you know it :ya

    Are my eggs okay?

Its put me off doing another hatch I knew there was a chance of them dying during incubation or hatching but I don’t think I ever really grasped how traumatic it’d be.. I love animals I can’t bare to see any suffer or die. Absolutely terrified the chicks I have now will die but they seem strong...

    Are my eggs okay?

Some of the blood vessels have turned black but there’s still a few red ones left, as for the yolk I don’t think it’s fully absorbed I can see a yellowy thing in there still that I don’t think is the actual chick itself which I assume is the yolk

    Are my eggs okay?

Here are some pictures of the little ones that hatched the other day. I believe the grey one to be a lavender araucana but not 100% sure and the yellow one is just a yellow one because I have no idea when it comes to chicken breeds

    Are my eggs okay?

I did a assisted hatch last night sadly one of the eggs was already cold and had suffocated before managing to pip externally BUT there is very good news my largest brown egg is still alive and thriving just waiting for her to hatch now :)

    Are my eggs okay?

A little update for everyone. Two of the 4 that were left had died, I don’t entirely know when but I’ve opened them and one seemed to have begun to pip the inner (I’ve had a brain fart can’t remember the name) this one hadn’t properly absorbed its yolk I did a few of the tests you can do to...

    Are my eggs okay?

They are shipped eggs I did follow instructions to leave them 24 hours before putting them in the incubator, I have heard that shipped eggs are a pain in the backside sometimes when it comes to hatching and things. I was looking at the assisted hatching it just looks so scary I’d hate to be...

Here’s a picture of the eggs when I got them so far the pinkish on and the green/blue(109) one has hatched. With the incubator I bought it off amazon and it’s been working surprisingly...

I took the dry chicks out of the incubator yesterday and made sure that none of the other eggs had pipped...
