    That is the navel. Looks normal. They chick still has a large abdomen from absorbing the yolk. That will go down. The navel with finish healing and the scab fall off. If you are worried about the navel you can apply a dab of antibiotic ointment, but probably not needed.

    Egg constantly wiggling, does it need help?

    From day 17or so to hatch time the chick has to turn over. Chicks develop facing the small end and turn to the large end of the egg and air cell to hatch. If you hear peeping then it has pipped the air cell. Just give it time. The struggling is needed to build leg strength. Nothing good...

    Coop Floors

    The layers' house is concrete. All other houses are up on legs with plywood floors. All floors are painted with Stormcoat. Quite a bit thicker then paint and so far has not pealed in any of the coops. I use shavings for their litter and clean out with needed.
