Hello.
I suppose I should have clarified. Hubby has hunted and field dressed water fowl and other birds for about 40 years. That was a first time sitting down and taking his time. I was really fascinated as I had never seen a bird processed so he was showing me the crop, gizzard, etc. lol his...
i just have to tell someone! My hubby is still asleep (he works nights).
I got my first egg!!! :woot:jumpy
I have some of those fake eggs in the nesting boxes and I saw this tiny clean different colored one. Lol I was a little confused at first. I was expecting a yucky dirty thing.
I want to...
We just processed our 1st 6 roosters and found these in one. Are the discolored kidneys? Are they eggs and it was a hen? My husband has processed tons of birds and has never seen them before.
So I went and picked up 9 pullets the other day. While there I saw beautiful baby Americanas (sp?). The girl asked me if I wanted anything else. I told her no because I didn’t want anymore straight run chicks because I already have wayyy too many roosters, lol.
This girl says,”I know how to...
They usually get locked in their coops at night. During the day I have 3 German Shepherds that patrol the property. It got dark before we were able to attach the coops. So I’m on high alert tonight!
Today I will be moving about 40 birds from two small coops to a massive run my husband and I have built. I’m super excited about this by the way!
My question is how in the world are we going to move them all? Hubby wants to move them by hand one at a time. Any suggestions for a more efficient...
That is so sad! All my chickens and ducks came from my local TS store and were in wonderful health. I think a lot of that comes from the staff they have who are super knowledgeable and also have their own flocks! After reading your post I’m really grateful I haven’t had that same experience.
Hey everyone :frow
I have a decent sized mixed flock and one Roo who has taken over as the HBIC. I need one more Roo and the rest will have to be dressed. There are 3 that to me are obvious roosters but I was hoping y’all could confirm for me. Also, how in the world do I pick which one to...
At the moment I have several roosters. Too many He is my keeper though. I’m happy to hear I get to keep another one though. Thank you everyone for the clarification. I’m excited to see what kind of frankinchicks I get
I have about 30 chickens. I went to tractor supply and asked for two of every bird so I have SO MANY different breeds! I have a leghorn rooster named Boss. I got really lucky because he really takes his job seriously and is good at it!
Here’s my question though. For the last few days he has...
Thank you!! I got two of every bird available. I figured these two were the meat birds because they are so different from the others. HUGE in comparison!
