One of my chickens only lays eggs that look like this. They are rough at the top and when I crack it, sometimes the yolk will get stuck at the top and not come out. Once it came out and I cooked it, but it tasted weird so we didn't eat it. Should I eat or throw away?
It has been so rainy that my run is muddy and smells terrible! The flooring was grass and is now just dirt and mud. Should I think about a different type of flooring? If so, what would you suggest?
I have 5 hens who get along pretty perfectly. I went down today and one had dried blood all over her head. I caught her and it looked like she had a small place beside her eye, but it didn’t look like she had been picked on or anything. Do I need to treat this or separate her because the others...

I recently got new 1 year old hens to go with my 5 month old hens. They are all getting along now, but the new hens aren’t laying eggs like I was told they did before they got here. It has been about 2 weeks since they have been here. Should I be concerned that they aren’t laying? They are...
I just added 2-one year old hens to my 4-5 month old hens. They are now living in harmony, but is it a big deal that they are eating grower/finisher pellets rather than laying pellets?

Hi! I am new to the chicken world, but so far have had a great experience with my chickens. I recently introduced 2- one year old hens to my 5 month old hens and went well...for the most part. One of the newbies seems to be singled out a little. She isn’t getting pecked, but chased a bit. From...
