I need help. I need a divorce & don't even know how to begin. I have three kids at home & have stayed at home since they were little. I homeschool 2 of them (12 & 15) and the 20 year old is in a local college this year. On top of it, I just turned 50 & feel so old.
I won't go into too...
"Snowball Cookies" & Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies. Today...Easy Homemade Bread Rolls with Honey in them. I add extra yeast so they taste "better!" ... at least to us.
I see those trucks quite often, too. It is hard to see them crammed into the cages & imagine what their whole lives might have been like.
I tried to grow my own "meaties" in humane conditions this last spring, but it was a disaster all the way around & unbelievably expensive (though they...
My Standards:
* Ruby the Red Star: Quick & Greedy, 1st to the raisin treats. Lays an egg a day though!
* Cleopatra or "Brownie", True Ameraucana: A real Sweet Heart. We love her. Is 2nd to the bottom of the pecking order.
* Holly Hobbie the Australorp with the crooked foot: Very...
I love it, too! I actually sing Christmas songs to my chickens & ducks. The ducks Especially love it. One drake who is normally very skittish around people will waddle over near me & "listen" very quietly~~actually all the ducks become very quiet and "stare!" I love those ducks...
I think I would "Skip" that part of Christmas next year & use all that money to buy something really nice for my own family that would be fun for all of them. (Games, Out-to-Eat, Netflix, etc.) That might be a lot more fun and much less disappointing as you will know what you will be getting!
I see this happen every year at certain times as we all do. I find the way prices fluctuate fascinating, but disturbing when they skyrocket out of proportion to what they are selling is truly worth~at least to me.
My interest started as a homeschool project a few years ago. But I think I have always been interested in them since I was little and got to watch some on my Uncle's farm when we visited.
They are certainly great stress relievers, too! They just love you because... you have raisins??!
I also had roosters that would crow at 4:30 in the morning! I was also surprised by it as I thought the sun would at least be rising before they would crow, too.
I have closer neighbors, so unfortunately for them, they became dinner....
