    Sick chick

She is eating grower/finisher crumble. I do have some probiotics I can add to her water. I also thought about plain, unsweetened yogurt.

    Introduction

Welcome to BYC. I love your dog. Sorry about your flock. I built a new coop last summer. Glad that’s over! I have 14 two year old hens. Two of the hens are Wyandottes (layer/meat) and the other 12 are layers. Planning to add 6/8 new chicks in a few weeks.

Mites or Lice? Please help identify and need treatment for Ducks and chickens

I don’t know much about treating lice. I would think waiting until morning can’t make it too much worse. I think waiting to get the right product would be best for the flock.

    Sick chicken

My vet did not perform the necropsy. We are fortunate to have a very large center run by Murray State University that did the necropsy for the vet. They are doing additional test. Since we are in a large farming area, we have access to the Breathitt Veterinary Center. I know several farmers take...

I used nest box liners which helped when there was a broken eggs. I like the plastic better because they are so easy to clean. I just remove them from the wall and...

    Sick chicken

I went ahead and took my sick chicken to the vet today. The reason I decided to take her was she produced what look like a small lash egg. He put her on tetracycline in her water for five days. I’m trying that now and hoping she will feel better soon. She is eating a small amount and drinking...

    Sick chicken

I checked her out while I was giving her the Epson salt soak. Her crop is soft and feels empty. Her vent looks fine. She did drink a little water for me. I’m not sure if she molted in the fall because most of my chickens look alike. It seems like she might be going through a light molt right...
