Great info! I, too, am just getting started in goats, and have a chance to buy a mini lamancha in milk to add to the nigerians I am getting soon...it seems like those who have them won't part with them...think I might go for it! (IF I can convince my hubby that the price is worth it)

I have no idea what her illness is, but if she has bugs on her, powder her good with some DE asap, and it'll at least relieve her of the bugs :)

The girls LOVE their dust baths....I keep a pile of Diotomaceous Earth in the hen house for them to use...they love it and it keeps flies and mites away.

If he makes it thru the night, try getting some colloidal silver, and get him to drink it. It's a natural anti-biotic (we use it ourselves!) and you can't give him too much. :^)

I just went out to shut the girls in, and found one of my Silkies (pullet) limp and cool...she has very little life left in her....I can feel every bone in her neck, and though her crop is puffy (almost flabby), it's not hard as though impacted. I don't expect her to last more than another hour...

Was a fun swap in Tilton today! Weather was nice and I got a lil burn Sold my Roo (forgot to take a pic first though he was a BEAUTY! ) and the black chicks and brought home some of Chick Magnet's white chicks and a funky one! Hubby's happy (we now have white Silkies ) and I'm happy...
