Janet or anyone- do any of you have a couple eggs (dont care what kind!) that are close to hatching? I have a bantam cochin that has literallly been setting since june. The original eggs she was on were all duds, and she will not get up. I dont want her to set another 21 days.......I dont know what else to do. right now, she is setting in a wire bottom cage that is suspended. this girl will hatch a rock I tell yah. LOL.

Try putting a bagof frozen peas with a little bedding to cover it under her. Works for me every time.

I'll try that!! I have a hen who's been sitting on fake eggs for a month too!

I thought she'd have quit by now...before that she was stealing other hens eggs! I have NO CLUE how she moved them from one nestbox to the other, but she did!

Now that I have her setting....no more broken eggs!!

I have a couple bags on hand that we do not eat. I just take them out from under her and put in a ziploc bag and re-freeze them. It should take less than a week if it is going to work on this hen. Each one is different.

I have an entire flock of Barnevelders that I am offering only in breeding pairs and trios. I have 4 breeding trios available.

These birds are great quality and lay very nice medium brown eggs.

If anyone is interested please contact me.
