HELP! Dying chicken - clear/light green something (poop?)

Thank you all for your help. She passed away last night. We will be sending her off for Necropsy to see what caused this. Everyone is devastated - couldn't have happened to a sweeter chook. I will share what we find as this was an awful 5 weeks - we tried so hard, and so did she.

HELP! Dying chicken - clear/light green something (poop?)

Also - poop is no longer bright green. It was healthy looking until today but now getting a little light brown/globby. The thread "No energy and bright green poop!" is amazing - wondering if @Betsy57, @casportpony, @gina1009 from that thread might have a thought of whats going on with my gal...

HELP! Dying chicken - clear/light green something (poop?)

This chicken is committed to dying. BUT she is still with us. After posting I gave her Amoxicillin and rushed her to the vet. The exotic vet thought she was going to die on the table - she had a gallop heart beat, couldn't stand, could lift her wings - so we gave her subcutaneous fluids, force...

HELP! Dying chicken - clear/light green something (poop?)

6.5 month old Americauna, never laid an egg. She's been acting off the last few days, not really eating, hiding behind the coop, choosing to not free range. This morning she didn't come out at all. Won't eat anything. Her bestie has been hanging with her the last few days, but he emerges to eat...

    Is this Coccidiosis?

Found in coop. 5 week old chicks that have just been moved outside. Not sure which one it is - so I split the group in half for the night and will try to figure out from there. Kinda crazy bc these guys have only been outside grazing the last 5-7 days and temps haven’t been above 73 so not...

PSA: DO NOT BUY OMLET CHICKEN RUNS

I used zip ties, ran it around the zip tied ever 6-12” on top and bottom and then here and there in the middle. Has worked great - the run is now my backup for sick chickens or new chicks.

    HELP! Chicken swallowed string!!!

If its cotton will be fine! All that gravel and grit will mash it up. If its nylon its a bigger problem. That said - if you look at my history - my chicken swallowed a 36" THICK nylon cord and survived another 6 months until a hawk got her (we are still hoping said hawk choked on the string and...

    Neighbors dog skinned chicken

I can't thank you enough @Shezadandy ! Obviously was a long night but seems like he is going to make it. I did land up taking him to the vet first thing monday - they did a blood test, were pretty impressed with my clean up (although they did clean up a bit more) and $650 later (seriously...

    Neighbors dog skinned chicken

Ok so 4:04am here (my kids wake up in 3 hours!) and he’s washed, trimmed a bit, and greasy from neosporin. Found a small wound on his breast, but it’s scabbed over and closed so I quick spritzed some betadine and then I gave him a pretty quick wash so would like to get a better lather on him...

    Neighbors dog skinned chicken

Came home to a massacre. My neighbors dog killed 7 of my chickens (and 4/6 of my hens) and severely injured one poor silverudds cockerel. I’m devastated and angry but that’s a post for another day. He’s missing all his back feathers and a few good sized chunks of skin. He’s also covered in...

    Hawk or stray cat?

No way was this a hawk. They defeather your chickens, eat a few organs, and leave a huge carcass. It could be a hawk plus racoon, or hawk plus fox. But a hawk leaves its kill, a 4 lb bird cannot fly away with a 4 lb chicken. I doubt the cat. They wont eat a whole chicken. My vote is raccoon...
