    I wouldn’t take the chance. I’d spend the $$. I made a pretty good investment in 15 from a breeder, hopefully coming in June. Your first ones are pretty much your foundation. You have a bad foundation it could set you back years for culling. IMO.

    Well, I’m glad they work for you. I’m not sold. When understanding the vapor density of ammonia and positive pressure ventilation, I prefer ridge line vents at the peak, especially in winter. 20 chickens in sub -30 degrees last winter, it worked perfectly.

    Thanks! I updated my profile. It has two gable vents and a ridge line vent that runs the entire length of the peak of the roof. It has 3 windows that I can open or crack in the winter. I live 30 min north of Minneapolis.

    Sometimes it can really take a very long time to soften pasty butt enough for it to be removed. One time it was like 45 minutes of holding a wet rag on her vent under a heating lamp before it resolved.
