    new coop, solar panels

I have seen outdoor light that have built in solar panels but they are pricey, over $100. I am sure there are plenty of online kits for small PV arrays but again this would be pretty pricey just to plug in a light and keep water from freezing. Here is a DIY site for solar...

You can also get thermostat devices for plug in items that would turn on your heat lamp only if the temp went below 30, 20 whatever you choose. The biggest concern for heat lamps is fire, makes sure you mount is safely.

Is there a good place to put a PVC feeder?

Just a thought - I would run it down the front left corner inside of your coop. Have the top extend through the roof and have the feeder end down in the run. If you have the top extend above the roof line you could fill it with out disturbing it. You could either paint it black so it looks...

    Vermicompost chicken poop pit

It is very hot, it is a better addition to your compost pile. You could let it compost with dry leaves, clippings, kitchen waste etc for a few weeks and then give the mix to the worms to finish it off. My worms pretty much just get veggie scraps and coffee grounds.
