By the way, is that a varmit path I see running from your coop to the crawl space under your house or did you run electric or water there?

One suggestion:
Buy 200-300 feet of three-foot 2x4 wire. Make a large circle with most of it going back into the woods. No need for posts or anything; if the wire's in a circle it will stand up on its own. Your chickens will be safe during the day in the woods.

Honest to Pete, the more I study this design the more I think it might be the best I've seen. BYC has coop design contests, and the plans for building this should be entered.
