    Sick duck dragging tail

I feed flock raiser as there are chickens, ducks and geese. They free range and there is also cracked corn and grains available. Vent looks normal. Here body feels normal. Her walk is stumpy. she is isolated in a cage right now. No neck issues or breathing issues that I can see.

    Sick duck dragging tail

Help! New duck mom, I have six 4 month old ducks. Pretty sure 5 are females based on quack and only one has Drake feather. They are not laying yet so I do not think I am looking at egg binding. One of the Female Swedes started to lag behind the group. She can walk and she is drinking water...

If you kept only one breed...

Chickens are a gateway drug. You start with chickens next you know you have geese, ducks and quail. You’re not happy if your egg basket doesn’t look like a rainbow and you’re downloading chicken breed charts to see if you can get a splash chick. Once you’re hooked one breed is never enough...

Does anyone make their own Decoy eggs that work?

Suggestions? I don't have any golf balls... I was thinking of using the old trick of a hole at each end of the egg and blowing out the yolk and then soaking it. I have not figured out what to fill it with to allow it to be my decoy. I know I can buy a ceramic egg but I love to try it the DIY way.

Ducks won't go in coop at night

I have 6 ducks and two Geese. They do not always go in at night. To round the up I take two long sticks, like yardsticks, and use them as "wings" to guide them. The ducks stay in a group and are very guidable and we can guide them into the coop. That may be less traumatic than chasing and...

    Leghorn and Orphington mix

I like egg variety and purchased 15 straight run chicks of different breeds. Good news is I only ended up with 2 roosters. Both are Lavender Orpingtons. I have no female Orpingtons so I will have no true breeds. I do have 2 silver leghorns that have very similar coloring to the roos. Does...

I have 4 chickens. They all look the same but 2 have some black in their saddle feathers and 2 do not. None of the saddle feathers are thin or pointy. Are they roosters. Or just different colors?j
