So far I have had one of the black bantams to die during the hatching. But 1 silverduckwing bantam has made it, 2 americanas, and 8 black oeg bantams. Still have more waiting to pop out. 1 americana and 1 silverduckwing have pipped but not come out yet. I did see 4 black silkies outside under...
Went to bed at 4am. Got up at 8am. Had pips at 4am. Now I have 7 babies in there. Bunch left to go as I set about 26 eggs in this incubator.
Edited at 2pm since the others have hatched now.

I wasnt sure the day the hens started sitting. Since this one had hers yesterday, the black silkies should start tonight or tomorrow. Then the white silkie a day or two later I think. But I still have the 26 in the incubator that I am now iffy on since I have seen temp spikes up to 103...
Im glad I posted that pic now. My daughter was looking on here with me and noticed the date is only WAY off. lol. I need to set the camera date.
I wish I knew what kind of hen the mom is. Then at least I would know what they are. I just know the father is a OEG silverduckwing.
Well. I finally got her to let me get the chicks out. Still waiting on the 2 silkies to hatch their eggs which is any day now and the ones in the incubator should be out on the 19th and 20th. Heres a pic of the ones the hen started hatching out yesterday. She done great. 11 eggs and 11 dibs. All...
Well. So much for candleing some of the eggs the hens are sitting on anyway now. The only one I would do is the hen in the house here ( yes, her box is in my living room). Hers are hatching out now. Seen 3 babies so far. Waiting to see the others but she wont get up. lol. Might help if I would...
I will be candleing some today sometime. I have a lot to candle. Gonna take a while. I have 26 in one incubator, was 27 but one was an early dropout. I have another 127 due to hatch now the week after these. And added 64 more yesterday. Im not candleing the ones the hens are sitting on that are...
I cracked a store bought egg and fresh laid egg that a hen had pecked just the other day. Was showing my wife the difference between the two. Low and behold the store bought egg was a fertile one. I almost pulled the whole carton out and tried to hatch em. lol.
I dont know that much about Runting syndrome but I would think the chick would still feather out and everything like normal. Just be smaller. This one hasnt changed since the day we got it.
Ok, heres the pics. First is both together. Again, they are both the same age and WERE the same size when I first got them. Just the one will not grow for some reason. lol
Here they are together.
Now this is the one who is growing normal. Others are about his same size too.
And here is...
Well. Hit the auction tonight. Bought some eggs. 8 dozen eggs accually. lol. A mix of red comet and buffs. Im adding to them the americana, games, and bannies I have been saving up for the past week. Luckily I still have a few extra trays in the incubator left for the next few weeks worth of...
I will take some pics tomorrow. I had to go to the auction tonight and see what all they had. Bought 8 dozen eggs of a mix of red comet and buffs. lol. But yeah, the little chick eats and drinks just fine. Perfect health other than still having the baby feathers and super small. Like I said, its...
We bought some cochins a while back. They are all Growing so to speak and feather out great except for one. The chick is doing great but just wont grow or feather out for some reason. lol. They are about 6 weeks old and it looks the exact same as it did when we got it a month or better ago...
I just holler out "Hey babies" and every chicken I have comes runing up to the sides of the cages where they can see me. All 113 of them. Well, almost all, the 4 that stay in the house dont. lol.
I candled yesterday as well. I have about 30 eggs so I only done a few. All that I done so far are good. I cant really do the Americana eggs right now cause of their color. I might get the wife back there today with me and take a pic. There was one you could see really good. Chick with the eye...
I started some on the same day. Have some Americana eggs in the incubator along with some different bantams. I have a bantam hen that is sitting on her eggs right now. Not sure what she is but the father is silver duckwing. One of my bantam eggs is a silver duckwing in the incubator. Black OEG...
