Hi All,
I ended up with an accidental rooster and am can't keep him in my run. One neighbor flat out refuses and we can't technically have roosters here. So I am looking to send him to a good home. He's 10 weeks old as of yesterday, is a Delaware, is still pretty darn sweet, and is a good...

Interesting. I will watch for personality changes, but am resigning myself to rehoming if needed. WAAHHH. I've never had a Delaware in all my years of keeping hens and so OF COURSE he is the one that turned out a boy.
He is not bigger than my other girls and his legs are not huge but with that comb is it even possible he's a pullet? He is also super friendly and has been from day one— veritable lap chicken.
Hi All,
I have 6 10-week olds and I am almost sure that the Delaware (the breed that I have course never had before) is a baby roo. Annie/Andy is 10 weeks old today. I know from reading here that Delawares grow fast but this seems way too fast. I will be so bummed If I have a cockerel as I...
Hello DucksAreBest! Do you have hens and ducks? The sounds dreamy. And thanks to everyone else for the warm welcome back. It's always a good and informative time at the most welcoming place on the internet.
Hi friends,
I am back after a number of years of not posting. I live in Oakland, CA and have been keeping hens since 2002. We had a chicken stock here in I think 2008.
Currently I have 8 week olds all the way to 10 years old on my little urban backyard farm.
Happy to back!
Bgawk,
Maureen
Hello all! I was part of planning the 2004 Chickenstock and we had it at Del Valle lake. It worked well and even thought it was hot day, nice and breezy right by the lake. I would love to participate again this year and meet some more local peeps. a little closer to the bay is Lake Chabot, which...
I have a question. Do any of you know what happened to the rodetrol and safekill products? I had a rat problem a couple of years ago and used this bait, which was FANTASTIC since it only works on rodents and is non-toxic to everything else.
Now, I can't find any place to buy it in the states...
Thanks for trying Dilly. Please let me know if you get any return calls.
Out Of The Brooder, I see you are in Reno. I could meet you in Sacramento or Grass Valley if you wanted to drive half way.
Anyone else out there?
Thanks again everyone,
Maureen in Oakland
Hi Dilly,
Thanks for your reply.
I am actually out of town right now, but will see if I can get my chicken sitters to take a current photo of him for me to post. He really is gorgeous.
Whereabouts are you?
All best,
Maureen
