We have always trained our dogs to leave and be gentle with small animals. So it seems its moulting time for bobwhites and calis. Seems to have brought grumpy behaviour too? That normal? They aren't massively fighting, just grumpy pecks to all the others!

So if some of you remember, we posted these cortinex eggs... English whites. I said the orange circled one was different. So we had a great hatch of 5....the weird egg hatched and it was this little beauty!!! The others are yellow, with a touch of brown here and there.. Now turning white. So...

So then technically... They did then.

Yeah... The jumbos are 9 weeks old now. So I'm sure they may get bigger. They are amazing!!

First pic is our 3 girl jumbos they have laid in 48hrs. The size of them compared to our cali quail girl.

We thought our English white and cali girls were good layers.....till we got the jumbo cortinex!!!! Wow!!!! Some lay 2 a day!! And amazing sized eggs too!! The very first we broke open was a double yolker!!

Try also putting them in a look but don't touch for a week pen first... Introduce them nicely. Then let them out... They may do better. That's how I got bobwhites to integrate with my calis. Good luck with finding him a companion xx
