    Chicken not Able to Walk

Yes, she's the only one acting that way. I didn't actually see her "flutter"around today, but she did body slam onto the ground when she flew down from the roost. She is 6 months old and is laying normally. Yup comb color is normal. I feed the Purina layena layer feed, also feed scratch and give...

    Chicken not Able to Walk

Hey y'all, this morning when I went out to feed my chickens some scratch, I noticed one of my hens was laying on the ground - which is rather unusual. When I threw some scratch out for them, she didn't run out after the scratch as she normally does, instead she sort of fluttered her wings to try...

    Blood in Eggs

Ok good to know. These girls just started laying about 1-2 months ago. I've gotten about 8 bloody eggs all within the last two months. I'm thinking it could potentially be the same hen? I have about 20 laying hens

    Signs of Respiratory Issues?

Hey y'all. This afternoon I noticed that one of my pullets was sounding off. She's not really clucking, instead she makes a soft sort of nasally, whimpering sort of sound. It's hard to describe, but I know it's not normal sounding. I'm a little perplexed as to what could be going on because from...

    Process after every generation?

Hey y'all. I'm new to the whole chicken breeding business and am curious to know if you guys process/sell your breeding stock after every generation so as to not breed the parents back to their own offspring?

    NPIP Certification

Hey y'all! I was thinking about breeding my French Black Copper Marans and Lavender Orpingtons to sell and ship day old chicks and hatching eggs. From what I have read, I would need to be NPIP certified to ship across state lines. Do i still need to be NPIP certified to ship within my own state?

    Fowl Pox?

Hey y’all. I just noticed some dark spots/lesion looking areas on the combs of my French black copper Marans pullet and cockerel. Does this appear normal or should I be worried?
