Hi all, Raising meat birds for market, wanted to see if anyone knew of a fence that would be easy to set up. Biggest concern is the chickens slipping through small gaps. Current set up, any suggestions are welcome.

It's not, we're using a mobile processing unit; it's fairly bare bones. My goal is to have customers come the day of slaughter and chill the birds in their own manner

Hello all, Processing 100 chickens this weekend, and as the title says, I am wondering if anyone has ever cooled down their birds after slaughter in a brine solution; if so, what percentage would you recommend?

@jher77 CHICKS! A DAY EARLY! Temps seem to be holding around 70-80 in the areas not heated, and 90-97 under the Ohio Brooder with an outdoor temp of 45-51; tomorrow is supposed to hit a low of 29. I plan on giving them hard boiled eggs around 8pm so the 5-6 hour peak digestion coincides...

Thanks! I've put a lot of thought into it. That's correct; the temp in the Ohio Brooder is between 87-95° measured directly in the center 3" off the litter. I haven't had time to measure closer to the bulbs, but I'm probably going to have to raise it a little higher to let more air circulate...

Ambient temps are between 35 at night and 65-70 in the day, night is mainly what I'm worried about. I'm unsure of the R value of the insulation that I have, but I can double layer it if the temps aren't holding. Good to know about the ceramic elements, thank you
