It's totally up to you if you want to candle or not, I don't see any harm either way😊 Veining is a dead giveaway, once veins start to receed or disappear the chick has quit, also often times the embryo will seem to float around the egg when you tilt it and is just a black blob (best way I can...
They only explode if they have been contaminated by bacteria, so whenever you think about it or next time you candle. As far as development goes, depending on how they are positioned in the egg at the time of candling can make them look different than other eggs. Take pics again next weekend...
Expect the worst hope for the best🤣 Since it'll be dark you may not get to much attitude out of her. Take pics of any that you're unsure about and we'll help you out. I'm so excited for you! And don't stress about your special girl, the educators will give you all the info you need, and I'm...
I'm telling you, she is identical to her mom, Sansa is on the left in the first pic. He said he ended up with 3 pullets that look like that. Eggs should be coming soon, his oldest batch is 19 weeks
One of the people who got chicks from me sent me some pics yesterday
Orp/marans pullet and blue wheaten OE cockerel
Blue Wheaten OE pullet, looks exactly like Sansa but with feathered legs
F2 OE pullet, Onyx/Langdon
Blue Wheaten OE cockerel
We've had a ton of juvenile hawks the past couple months. My neighbor had 6 broodys hatch a total of 53 chicks and just let's them wander all over the place (she doesn't feed her birds during the spring/summer) needless to say I think there are 4 left.
I changed my mind; I'm only getting 6 of the Ermine eggs and I'm going to set 6 of my birds' eggs with them (probably the dark green eggs) It'll give me a jump on next spring cuz any I keep will be laying by then.
