I've been trying to figure what kind rooster I have if it's a Rhode island red or Americana or am I completely wrong on both lol any Insight is greatly appreciated
also do you have a normal light on other than the heat lamp? since its winter the days are shorter and that slows down the egg laying process. Try putting out a regular light and switch between that and the heat lamp for night and day
where are you located
I have 5 kaki campbells and 2 are female and they just started laying in the early fall last year and im still getting eggs almost everyday. Yours could possibly wait until spring. But once they start you will have more eggs than you know what to do with lol
yea tell my children that lol I told them what was killing our birds and they are going around at school saying daddy is going to need to kill the hawk to stop it from killing our chickens. I said nooooooo do not tell people that OMG
I saw 2 videos on youtube I think that said that once they introduced all black chickens to there flock they haven't seen or encountered any hawks. Just wondering if that is true or not. and yes that is why I joined BYC because I have questions and here I can always get answers or atleast...
ok so call me crazy but I have heard and seen videos of people saying that hawks don't like to attack all black australorps because the number one enemy of a hawk is a crow. So the hawk sees the all black bird and thinks its a crow and leaves the flock alone. Any truth to that or just BS
