    Hi , can anyone tell if this Orpington is hen or rooster ? It is one of six and earliest to fully feather among all the siblings. (The rest are still fairly fluffy) The hackle feather's look rounded to me but it also has a prominent comb whuch us confusing...and idea ?

    Hi all, I read that you could tell the gender of 2 week old chick by the shape of their wings, but I am not sure whether I could differentiate between rounder wings and longer wings. Can you guess the gender of these chicks ? They are gold laced Orpingtons.

    Baby chick not walking properly

    Can anyone help ? My baby chick is not walking properly..she is 3 weeks old and born with a left leg that is misshapen.. She is using it as a crutch to balance rather than to walk. I included some photos .. Will she be able to live as an adult chicken ? She is a very sweet girl.

    For those who does feather sexing, what do you think of the chicks in the pictures, girl or boy ? They are gold laced Orpingtons, all born on Easter Day... Day 2 today. They are quite fluffy , so hard to get a good picture of the wings... hopefully you can tell

    I have two chicks born yesterday, so Day 2 today. One is really active and moved around. The other just seems tired and lying down a lot. Is this normal ? The temperature in the brooder is currently at 97F / 36 °C. Is this too warm? Picture attached.

    My Chick is 2 days old, she crouches down mostly and only stands up for a few second. She seems to be leaning on her right leg. When she moves , she hops around. Does she have a splayed left leg ? She is eating and drinking but she is tiny.
