    Eggs not fertile

Mine take a bit of time after winter to really get into the swing of things. Maybe a few more weeks of drakes doing their job and check eggs again for bullseye? I know I have much fewer fertile eggs in the winter when I try to incubate eggs, compared to spring. That being said mine are all...

    What breed is this?

If they came from TS then they likely came from Hoovers... so likely a golden 300/golden cascade or whatever they are called at hoovers.

What Breed Of Ducks Should I Get?

Partially depends on what you're getting them for? Eggs? Meat? Pets? Eating and destroying grass and yards? Looking cute on your farm? If that's irrelevant and you just want to know favorite breeds I can answer that as well LOL I love my magpies. I also love my runner ducks because they are...

Awesome thanks so much. That's kind of what I was thinking but really wasn't sure what to expect.

What color will this little one be?

That's basically what I'm doing as well. They can see everything going on and are around all the whole flock, look but don't touch haha

What color will this little one be?

I have mine fenced off from the rest of my flock and the outside world so limited ability to interact with the big wide world right now. I have chickens (roosters and hens) as well as my ducks (drakes and ducks), and a lot of predators. I was afraid my roosters or drakes would kill them and my...

How Many Ducklings Can A Single Duck Hatch?

My tiny mallard just hatched 9/11 of her eggs. I think that was probably the most she could really sit on because she's small. But a larger duck then should be able to have a bigger nest.

What color will this little one be?

They are all waddling around like adorable ducklings to, this morning! Happily eating and drinking. Ducklings at this age are so precious.

What color will this little one be?

Yes! She started with 11 eggs, 1 I tossed a week or two ago. And 1 was a late quitter that was dead when I checked it tonight. 9 of 11 is the best hatch I’ve ever had and way better than any of my incubator batches. I love my broody mallard ladies (I have 2).

What color will this little one be?

My broody just hatched her clutch and I’m wondering what this one will look like. They are barnyard mixes mostly. (The one in question is the one with faint eye stripes - not the magpie marked one) My drakes: Black magpie or fawn/white runner (Guessing it’s the f/w runner as the father)...

Power Outage - How long will the eggs survive...

They all hatched and are doing welll.

    My first ducklings are here!

Meyer sells small orders by gender. But they likely have a small order shipping fee.

    My first ducklings are here!

I think you have a blue swedish and a rouen (could be mallard but seems roughly the same size as the swedish so leaning towards rouen).

Power Outage - How long will the eggs survive...

So far so good. All 11 that were developing before the power outage appear to be okay. 1 or 2 I'm a little iffy on because the shell makes it hard to see, but fingers crossed!

Power Outage - How long will the eggs survive...

Ok thank you! Fingers crossed. I'm scouring this forum reading other threads as well LOL. So paranoid and didn't want to lose these eggs.

Adding ducklings to my chicken flock.

You'll need to be ready to rehome both ducks when you determine their gender (usually you can do this between 4 and 8 weeks old) if either (or both) turn out to be male. If you keep your ducks in the same run as your chickens, you SHOULD NOT have male ducks without plenty of female ducks. Like...
