I put my 4 9 week old hens in the coop with my 15 month old hens on Sunday. Its been looking pretty ugly with a lot of bullying and it seems like they corner the little ones & keep them away from food & water.
When I get home I let the older ones out to free range and make sure the little ones...
I have 5 hens that are going to be a year old in February, I had 6 but a Hawk got one!
Anyways if I were to get 2 chicks, when could I join them with the flock and will they accept them?
If you want to see the hawk eating my Plymouth rock go to youtube
Thank you, I did build it myself from a set of plans I bought. I have 2 RIR, 2 Plym Rocks, 1 Buff Orph., and 1 Gold Lace Wyandotte
So how about if I put a 75 watt bulb in the sleeping quarters. They're just getting too big, smelly, and noisy for my basement...
My chicks are 7 weeks old today.

I did have trouble finding the roof materials and the 1" wire at 1st but after some digging around I found sources.
I put about $500 into it.

Does this push me over the limit, should I add a second nest box?

They are 6 days old today. I'm using an organic starter that came with a bag of grit but no instructions or suggestions
