i know there is a couple of online vendors that carry Egyptian Fayoumis! been a while since i looked it up, but i saw a few.
Just as a heads up, they are kinda skinny, and talkative/skittish breed.
that would be so tiny!!! but its okay, once the ratio got better, they did slowly stop crowing.
also.... they are all in a better place now. (freezer then dinner plate)
so i am reading some reviews before i buy this wire... and saw these pictures with a one star review.... so ahm what could have caused this? wire defect? bad installation? or what the heck happened??
anyone bought this specific brand of wire before...
Yeah, i had quail in smaller hutch before.... they are messy lil dudes.
So..... am... about the frames... i am thinking of doing metal instead of wood... just feels like it would be stronger and, honestly easier for me to be build?? some how when i used wood it always comes out slighting not 90...
yeah, i was thinking about putting up some foot high wood boards on the bottom of the aviary to keep in the substrate. Great points about the 1/4 getting messier, didn't think about that.
interesting, i thought having 1/4" 19 gauge would be stronger than 1/2" inch 19 gauge? more metal! more strong!?? i am guessing i am misunderstanding something here.
1/2" would be nicer for sure, i was first thinking about that since it is more spacing, and you can view the birds better.
As for...
Hello peeps, i am building an outside aviary, and i am thinking about using something like this: 48'' x 100' 1/4inch Hardware Cloth 19 Gauge. for fencing.
The aviary is going to be around 10' by 12'. Concrete flooring, and most likely going to have some sand/mud substrate on top. I am going to...
Hello everyone! just wondering if anyone knows how to get in contact with Finch or Canary breeders in the OC-LA area?
Or anyone knows of other bird forums specific to Finches/Canaries?
thanks a bunch!
no not yet, i think we will wait a bit longer. Too many side projects are going on at this time. But if i find eggs/chicks at the right price i might change my mind! :D
this is crazy.... now almost too many eggs! 14 eggs a day almost now, once in a while we get 12-13... but now 14 eggs a day geeeez... haha too much. (time to sell some i guess)
yeah, the plan is to replace the Italians slowly with more jumbos for sure. I honestly didn't want Italians haha they were the only ones around when i was looking at craiglist. Myshire farm didn't have jumbos for a while... so we decide to pick up some quail from craiglist to proof out...
finally got 13 eggs in one day! the past couple weeks the numbers of eggs have gone up slowly. from 10... 11, to 13!
I did add some probiotics to their water, i wonder if that boosted their system up?
i got them a solar lamp... but the damn thing broke on the 2nd day.....
