If it looks like wry neck, I would recommend you take an old sponge, cut it into a circle and cut a slip in the circle and put that around the neck to keep her neck up and her active.
If your chickens had blackhead, not only could they die, but if they interacted a lot with the turkeys, the turkeys could get it and die in a few days. Also, turkeys show signs of blackhead and for the most part, so do chickens. So, you can just keep an eye on them.
Hi, I would like to get some turkeys but am debating getting them or not. I already know a lot about the bird and blackhead disease. However, any more information out there, I'll take. Should I get them?
Thank you! I love silkie. They are so cute. And where I live, it's not that humid, so we won't have a hug problem. Also, we have a stall for our chickens until they are old enough for free range.
I have had some chickens with duo color feet or sometimes even flaky feet. I don't think this is anything big. However, keeping an eye ut for any other signs of pain or illness can never hurt. Just keep in mind, it could be something as simple as molting.😉
My chickens do this all the time. Chickens are hungry easily and like to show it. When I go down to the barn, my chickens are standing right there for me. This is all normal. However, there is always a possibility that even a healthy chicken could be blind. I'd just keep a close eye on...
I have had chickens my entire life. Recently I have been looking into silkies. Is there anything I should know before purchasing? Any special diets, special needs? I mean like, I want to know EVERYTHING about silkies to make sure I have maximum safety and care for my birds.
