    Fowl pox producing foot lesions?

Hey y’all. So today I noticed two of my Easter Egger hens have these weird blackish lesions on the tops of their feet. I did some research but it doesn’t look like bumblefoot or anything else to me. I have no idea what they are, so I just decided to keep an eye on them. Then, a couple of...

What did you do in the garden today?

That’s what it looks like to me. I looked it up but I guess I didn’t look in the right place. 😂 Thank you for finding it for me!

What did you do in the garden today?

In our garden, my mom, brother, and I pulled up our butter bean plants to get the pods off (the rats have started to get into them). While looking through the plants, we found this interesting little caterpillar. Does anyone know what it is? I’ve think it would be pretty cool to know what it...

    Baby dove found.

Hey y’all. So today my mom found a baby dove laying in the yard. We looked around above it and found what was left of the nest. A little bit later I found the other baby (it was covered in ants) and what was left of one of the parents. It looks healthy, I think it’s around a week old. I fed...

    Chick neck injury

Hi, This is probably going to make me sound really bad and inconsiderate but I would like some advice and peace of mind. So today before I drove back to college for the week, I was outside spending time with our five week old EE cross chicks. We just introduced them to the rest of the flock a...

    White Leghorn hen bleaching

Yes, I’m asking about them turning yellow again, sorry if that was misunderstood. Her comb is not like it usually is. It’s starting to dull and shrink some.

    White Leghorn hen bleaching

So I’ve got a white leghorn hen who has not been laying for a couple of months. The molted back in October, and hasn’t laid since. Her legs are beginning to turn yellow and her beak is now solid yellow. I don’t know if maybe she’s come to the end of her laying time or something else. I have no...

Ivomec pour on for scaly leg mites?

I have not redosed her with the ivermectin yet. Do you think I should do it again? Ok, we can mix up some sulfur in some Vaseline and apply it today. I might be able to make her an egg later.

Ivomec pour on for scaly leg mites?

She is walking on the foot that was hurting her so I think it feels better. She’s molting right now tho. We also trimmed her toenails

Don’t quote me in the 14 day withdrawal I might be wrong…

Ivomec pour on for scaly leg mites?

I think there is a 14 day withdrawal with ivermectin but it also depends how you are administering the drug. How are you giving it to your chickens and what are you treating for?

    Team Science Fiction

😂 I watched Prometheus the other day, it creeped me out. BUT I loved the 90s X-Files (even though it’s not a movie).

    My rooster… RIP TINY

So we think Tiny (the rooster in the first pic) fertilized our white bantam hen Cotton (the white bantam hen in pics 2 and 3) and Alice was the result (the white bantam hen in pic 4)

    My rooster… RIP TINY

Thank you. We hatched one egg earlier this year that we think was his baby. She (Alice) resembles how he and her mama acted a lot. I’ll see if I can find a picture of her

    My rooster… RIP TINY

Thank you. I’ll make sure to do that. And, a little off subject but any suggestions to make it seem so sad? I might be overreacting but he was my favorite rooster.
