Easy Sherrie... This old sailor doesn't want to get in too deep just yet.. Remember, I said my first computer was an abacus, and I had trouble with that.. When you get as old as I am, you don't want to go too fast.. I think I'll let the moderators have a shot at helping me first.. I'm so old...

Mikey, I don't know what the max sodium intake is, but it is very small.. Has something to do with getting rid of it.. Normally through the urine.. Chicken urine is very thick, and doesn't transport the sodium well.. I'm not an expert, but there are some in this forum that may be able to give...

Mikey, I don't know about the Kibble.. Never had any experience with it.. I would check the ingredients closely before I fed it.. Some pet foods have ingredients that I don't understand, so I wont feed it to my animals..A little caution goes a long ways, and watch the salt content... Will

Well said pimachickens.. I think this thread is the best one in the forum, and not just because I lived in Az for over 40 years.. All of the people here are actually more friendly than they appear, and they do care.. That means a lot.. I like to start my day on this thread because it sets the...

I can't coment on the genetics part of your question.. Sonora Silkies is way more informed than I am.. I would even call her an expert, if it would't make her mad at me.. As for your question on the rooster age, I can only say that my barred rock rooster is over 6 years old, and he still gets...

During hot weather, the chickens tend to drink more water.. They don't sweat the same as we do, so they dischage the excess moisture, that they don't transpire, in their waste.. If they are healthy, and have no medical problems then you could be dealing with a heat problem.. There are many...

I don't have turkeys right now, but when I did, I raised them with my chickens.. Check on the turkey thread.. Many people do.. I believe it depends on the area you are in.. Blackhead is more prevalent in some areas than it is in others.. When I was in Casa Grande, I also raise turkeys with my...

Fuzzybird, I'm not sure about a draft in your situation, (not really enough information).. I have a 12 x 20 coop, with the east side open, (wired), and I have an outdoor (patio) ceiling installed.. It runs on med speed all summer, day and night.. I don't have any chicks, but it does not seem to...
