I have 6 dozen eggs in our extra fridge. Went to put more in today and the fridge had died! It was Not cool in the fridge so I have no idea how long it has been dead. Put eggs in 2 days ago and it was fine. Do I just lose all these eggs? Are they ok if I float test first? Please help guide me! I...
My Eliza (24 week old buff orpington, one of 10 chickens) is acting completely normal, but looks like this tonight. All my others look fine. Thoughts?
Pics are both of her to show both sides of her head.
Flock of 10 hens, all 20 weeks old - 4 laying- one of my laying ladies, Martha Stewart, appears to have an impacted crop. I noticed it yesterday, and checked again this morning and it doesn't appear to have emptied overnight. What measures do I need to take? I see so much conflicting advice...
This is Martha Stewart (she had to be in chick jail for eye poking but got out on parole and was able to successfully rejoin society)
And this is Gully. She sounds like a seagull when you pick her up lol
My ladies (5 EE, 3 buff orpington, 2 Australorp) will also only eat scratch and watermelon! Snack snobs! Lol
2 of my EEs look just like your girl! Mine are 17 weeks old, so we are still a ways off from seeing their egg colors. Please update when yours starts laying!
Here are our new babies! We have had them a week tomorrow, and they seem to be happy little ones!
5 Easter Eggers
3 Buff Orpingtons
2 Australorps
We are hesitant to name them all, but couldn't resist a few names (Hamilton fans here)
Happy Easter Everyone!
The hatchery nearby has a big selection, so the breeds I have been looking at are the Australorp, Golden Comet, Buff and Lavender Orpington, and my hubby wants some Easter Eggers. Looking to get 10 in some combination of these breeds.
Hi! I have been researching chickens for a while now, and next month we are taking the plunge! We are stocking up on supplies, knowledge, and tips. Any advice is appreciated, and I look forward to joining this community!
