Watch for water leaking, mine leaks badly from one cup and it seems to be a pretty common issue despite the great ratings. I’m probably switching to something else in the winter but for now I don’t mind a bit of a mud puddle.

Might be boring but Id love one of these. I have a smaller one that was from RAC, then when I bought a larger one there was an off brand set of food and waterer, and of course the waterer leaks like crazy. So come winter time I'm back to using the smaller one until I get a big one because I...

What was your worst mistake as a chicken keeper?

I got Lucy the Leghorn by accident. Honey -Red sexlink, Cheep and Dayle the Eggers, and Dottie the Diva wyandotte that I wanted so bad I went back for because they were supposed to be docile and calm (hahahahah). Id love to get some blue eggs eventually... But I love my assortment. Sexlink gives...

What was your worst mistake as a chicken keeper?

I was given one that was the wrong breed... the one in my profile photo. I went back and was allowed to buy a single one of what I had asked for. All 5 of them are thriving... and oddly... the incorrect chick is my absolute favorite and the one I jumped through hoops to buy that I thought I...

Can a rooster collar work on a hen?

Did this limit all the noise she makes? Or only some of it? I have one hen out of the 5 I got that screams her lungs out when she’s planning to lay… if anyone (human or bird) comes in the coop while she’s trying or even thinking about it she screams bloody murder at them. If they don’t leave...

Anti Barking Devices For Rooster Crowing

haahahaha but her suspicious little face! It figures right... she's the one I wanted so bad I went back a second time to get because they gave me the wrong chick. I end up loving the wrong one the most and having more issues with the one I made a special trip for. Live and learn...

Anti Barking Devices For Rooster Crowing

I have a chicken who sings very loudly, and I am wondering if I can train her to limit or quiet her singing. Sometimes she starts off all the dogs in the neighborhood and I don't want to be "that person". If its just a couple times that's ok... but she's the only one that does it. They are all...

Anti Barking Devices For Rooster Crowing

So were you playing the sound before they crow? It sounds like once they crow its too late for any device to work, because they won't hear the device if they close their ears. I thought the devices worked by emitting a sound as the crow or bark took place, and trained the pet to stop because...

What was your worst mistake as a chicken keeper?

Wow there are so many pages to read through. I'm a new chicken owner, and there have been a couple things so far... One I tried to avoid and still bit me. I ordered the coop less than a month after I got the chicks but it was damaged and back ordered for 2 months. they were cooped up in my...

Coop Run on concrete - drainage / rain help

I did something similar to this. 8 inches of cinder block, about 1 inch above ground, and when it rains the inside of the coop stays nice and dry! I was so happy.
