I can't see any fresh poop that for sure is hers. And she hasn't gone at all since coming in the house despite having had a drink. Her breath smells terrible, like human fecal matter......I think it's time
She's been drinking now, but just sitting on the couch where I put her. I feel so guilty....we've been busy with kindy this week and I hadn't noticed how thin she's gotten.....how do I know if I'm just prolonging the inevitable?? I don't want her to sugger any longer.......
This morning is not much better. I got home from school drop off and checked on her, she came to me slowly but was shivering and puffed right up. Her crown isn't blue anymore but its still dark. I've brought her inside, on a heat pad with a towel to help her get warm. She refusing to eat or...
Not laying an extreme amount as far as I can tell. But she did start this weird walk a few days ago where she pycjs her feet straight up and kicks forward underneath herself. Maybe it's from that?? Definitely not a fall from the roost, she just was released from isolation and hasn't been up on...
My biggest concern is the dark colour of her chest and her ongoing lack of coordination. She hasn't had feathers on her chest nearly all summer and it looks like blood pooling under the skin.
My husband did manage to get her to regurgitate the fluids in her crop, nearly 2 cups worth and she perked up. Her remaining crop was doughy, bordering on solid about the size of half a dinner sausage. She's now had a half cup of vitamin electrolyte water and is pounding back coconut oil as fast...
We had luck with the antifungal for a while, she did get better and even was laying again. But then it his again. I haven't had luck with her keeping a crop bra on and gave up for fear she'd hurt herself.
Fluffy has had issues sour crop all summer, we thought we'd found worms over the weekend so started deworming with safeguard paste Monday ( day 4). We just brought her in for today's dose and she's super lethargic, eyes closes and shivering. I don't know what to do.
She's about a year and a half.
Ok, quick update from anyone following. We are currently day 3/4 of medicating for Sour crop after a few days isolation and food restriction and are seeing great progress. This morning her crop was nearly unnoticeable except for a little bit of grit in the bottom and last night her full crop was...
We did not TECHNICALLY medicate for the sour crop, but gave massages daily and added vitamins to the water.....that seemed to clear up and she isn't smelly currently
So update. Moved to a mask bib. Seems to hold her better until I can get the proper bits to make a nice one. She seems less gritty but still big and squishy. Will check again in the AM.
Also.....what is this motion???
She's super quiet sitting the floor, I hear an occasional squelch but this happens periodically.
