is Dumor (dumour) a good feed brand?

How do you know Purina Layena has quality ingredients when all they list is plant by products, plant proteins etc.? What plants or grains???? My feed says corn, soy, oats or whatever. Just curious, as I like to know what is in my feed and if they can't list what's in it, I no longer buy it...

is Dumor (dumour) a good feed brand?

I am sure that this is one of those topics where I need to make it clear that this is my opinion only. I am not a vet by any means, and am only speaking from experience with my own animals. I feed Purina Layena crumbles. I think when it comes to feed, you get what you pay for. If you invest in...

York County PA- soon to be homeless goats.

So sorry to hear of your misfortune. There is a Lhama rescue in Maryland that may take your goats. The name of the rescue is Broken Fence Farm. I rescued a goat from my neighbors and took him down there. She has a wonderful place. I have not been in touch with her for quite some time, but it...

    All Chicks Missing Overnight

Have you thought of weasels? I know people will disagree with me, but they are very strong little animals. They can tear through chicken wire with great strength and will take all they can carry back to thier den. The lesser weasel can get through a hole the size of a hot dog and will find...

Do you think it is wise....

Thanks so much for the suggestions. That is what we did exactly. Except I took a shower. Threw all the clothes in the washer, had everyone wash their hands up to thier elbows and then went on with our day. Left shoes outside. I talked a to a few people at the show about all the diseases and most...

Do you think it is wise....

Would it be a terrible idea to go to a Poultry show if I have unvaccinated chicks in the house? I do not want to "catch" anything at the show. I know that all the birds have to be vaccinated, I just need to know if it would be safe to go? Or if there are adult birds there tha have been...

    Sneazing chicks

Quote: You are absolutely right, they can build up a tolerance for antibiotics, but they can't do that if they are dead. Terramycin is a pretty broad spectrum med and I would reccommend it to anyone who is having problems with sneezing. It saved my birds life. Also, I have learned that...

    Sneazing chicks

I had the same problem a week ago and started my chicks on terramycin soluble. It's 2 tsp's to one gallon of water. Take them off of any grit they are on, the meds attach to the calcium and will not work. Also go and get some childrens liquid vitamins. I have learned to never be without them...

    Help!--UPDATE--MoJo died

Thanks Deb. I am heading out the door shortly to pick up what I need and will get some yogurt. With cultures you say? Plain I assume. It is so frustrating when you can't really diagnose an illness until it is too late. I can't lose any of these babies. I lost ALL my birds to a weasel in November...

    Help!--UPDATE--MoJo died

You know, I went and found local breeders so that I would ot have to be stressed out by my little peeps, but guess what? OK! I have one 2 1/2 week old Cuckoo Maran that is very thin, eating and drinking, but very thin. Coccidiosis? Should I force feed some more food? Even though she eats, there...
