So a while back we had a gorgeous copper and black colored (primary on her was the copper color) EE, she bread to my BCM (we keep 1 roo per coop) well a few days later we get an egg, and the poor thing the next day was taken out by a dog (the ee).. we decided to incubate the egg and ultimately...
Has anyone ended up with this mix? We hatched a bunch of our eggs from one of our chicken tractors back in February and I must say this guy, despite being a mutt is gorgeous (I know they need moved the weather hasn't been decent until recently to do so)
We do both. We're running Cornish cross in a chicken tractor in one of our fields currently. We run all our birds in tractor style coops though for the free range aspect bit with the safety of the voop from predators.
Hi there! My family and I are up in Northern ky in Germantown (tiny little place) about 30 mins outside of Maysville. We're on 160 acres with a TON of chickens. (All in chicken tractors)
Picked up 12 MMMs (midnight majesty marans) a few weeks back but struggling to sex these (we normally hatch our own but I wanted to see how the eggs would be with the production marans cross) I know the Cockrells of these would be barred but the white face is throwing me for a loop and a touch...
I think you're right on track with this. It's the most likely given color and feather pattern. Flipping huge bird too, initially I suspected she was a roo, I was wrong there. But I'm curious what she'll look like at 6 months.

Thanks. And yea fairly certain is was probably a mix up breed wise, I've never seen anything like it before. But then again we try to focus on heritage breeds, but have also crossed our BCMs with some of our other laying breeds since he was the only roo we had at the time.
Picked up an array of birds one day from rural king, was mainly getting Plymouth rocks but sometimes others get mixed in. I have one that I have no clue what it is, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
