Thank you very much for your advice! She doesn’t have any eggs stuck inside, and I’ve put her in water and also gave her some calcium and put her in a dark place. Hope she’ll make it through :)
Hello guys,
I have an Italian golden quail that got a prolapsed vent yesterday morning. So I’ve separated her from the rest of the flock and placed her in a small dark box to prevent laying, and the internets says that I should replace the “material” back into her. The problem is that she is a...
I used potassium permagnate to clean the cage and surrounding. There are only 1 male in the cage. We give Calsium with crushed sea shells and chicken egg shells.
also, could this be marek?
the quail is 7 months old.
I feed it 25% protein crumble.
I keep it in a in-ground cage. (The soil get cleaned and disinfected every 2 weeks).
13 other quails were with it.
Hi guys, today I find this quail with its wings stretched out and can’t walk. She was fins yesterday tho. can anyone tell me what illness she is having?

i have this quail that is lying on its side with the legs stretched out. Her feather is fluffed up, and she does not drink or eat. Her legs have some consciousnes, but cannot maintain balance. She was fine yesterday evening, just sleeping a lot. Today when I went to check, she was lying on the...
Hi guys, I have a quail that I think have some illness. She has excessive panting (she pants non-stop even when the room temp is 24- C). Also, her feather is very very puffed, and her wing is somewhat floppy. Also, her top beak broke off yesterday morning and there was some bleeding. We took her...
Update 2: she didn’t do any recovery, but she can limp around and we got an egg from her yesterday again, so I think she is doing fine :)
and also, does the Marek treatment need distilled water? I read on some threads some day back that tap water is ionized some it’ll disable the active...
Oh, and by the way, should I put some st john’s wort in all of the quail’s water feeder? I’ve seen 2 quail crippling (I’ve isolated them) so I suspect that there might be a Marek outbreak.
