I have 2 bourbon red turkey jakes for sale. They were hatched April 25, 2022. I am asking $50 each. I live in Heflin, AL. Message me if you are interested.
I have too many Bourbon Red jakes (3), and I can’t bring myself to process them for Thanksgiving. They were hatched 4/25/2022. I would like to get $50 each for them.

I’m trying to find out if my chickens will only lay in the AM. So far, I have 2 layers out of my 10 chickens. Some will start laying any day now. I keep checking, but I don’t know if chickens lay any time of day, or are more likely to lay in the morning? Here’s a fun poll to see when we are...
You write eloquently. I suggest getting an electric fence. I got mine on Amazon with a solar power charger. 400 bucks and covers a large area. It saves peace of mind. Worth every penny. Been zapped a couple of times. Trust me, any animal would run the other way.
It’s been 26 hours since I found the first. The Isa Browns are 16.5 weeks. The others are 19 weeks old. I thought Welsummers and Smokey Pearls lay around 20-22 weeks. Can’t be the Easter Eggers because it’s not blue.
Thanks! Got another one today about 2 hours later in the day then yesterday in the same spot. Do you think it’s from the same gal? New one on the left. We have 2 Isa Browns, 1 Welsummer, 2 Smokey pearls, 2 Asian blacks, and 3 EEs.
My Isa Brown laid her first egg at the 16.5 weeks old. I thought I would share because I didn’t see any post of someone’s first isa egg age. The Internet says they can start laying anywhere from 16-22 weeks. Just wanted to confirm for others. Go little rockstar!
This is Rosemary. I noticed her legs were much lower angled then the other chicks when she was 6 weeks old. It has gotten worse, almost like her left leg pops out to the side when she walks. She can run, eat and drink. She is much smaller than the rest of my other 10 weekers. She’s panting a lot...
Thanks. I’ve never had turkeys before. Everything I read says 6-10 weeks. My chickens went out at 5 weeks with no problem, and nights were colder then.
These are my Bourbon Reds. They are 5 weeks old. We live in Alabama with temperatures 85-60s right now and no rain this week. Are they ready to go outside? We will have a run with coop. I’ve been turning off their lamp to condition them. They seem fine without the heat lamp.
I didn’t know if it was too soon to give grit at 1 week. I wasn’t planning on giving it to them until I took them outside to forage. Just seeing them eat strings of pine shavings has me worried they won’t be able to digest it.
I have four 1week old poults. The smallest one keeps running around the edges of the brooder chirping loudly. She doesn’t seem to be interested in eating or drinking like the others. She is frantically looking for a way out. I’ve seen them gobble down small strands of pine shavings. Is it okay...
I’m late, but I want to share my findings. I purchased 3 bourbon reds from chickensforbackyards. It’s a legit website. They ship from MO. It took only 2 days to get to me in Alabama, and they included a 4th poult. I highly recommend them! They will be 1 week old tomorrow. The box they came in...
