    The one end should be done with a pin (Straight) and for the opposite end I use a pin as well but put it on a 45 degree slant to make the hole slightly larger than the opposite end. Then blow from the small pin hole opening. That should do the trick:)

    We got one egg from one of the 9 hens on Monday who are 21 weeks old. However, it had a crack. It was layed in one of the boxes, but the chickens keep kicking the shavings out of the box. Leaving a hard wood bottom. 2 Questions. What's the hold up? Once they start to lay, don't they lay...

    Our 9 hens are 21 weeks old. Just got our first egg on Monday. And have been checking a few times a day every since and nothing:( Not sure what the hold up is????

    Thanks, I am just concerned about them being out all day - wondering around - getting lost or a fox getting them:( Do predators usually only come out at night?
