I've got guineas that I hatched and brooded alongside chickens and they'll come back to the coop with the chickens and even lay in their nesting boxes. In my experience, if you don't start them off together, integration is nearly impossible. Guineas can be bullies!
Our guineas wreaked havoc on Japanese beetles this year. They likely saved a lot of our garden by having them around. We do let our guineas free range. Even though we live out in the country, they still go a quarter to half a mile away and bug our neighbors. Luckily they are okay with it...
Yep! They taste pretty good -- like a really lean chicken or pheasant. Our personal flock is mainly for pest control and eggs (and the occasional predator alarm system). In most cases, I prefer their eggs over chicken eggs, especially for baking. They are creamier due to having a higher ratio of...
We're located just northwest of Neillsville. We've been raising guineas for a few years and love them. We usually keep 30-40 adults at any given time. Our flock is mixed with all kinds of colors. My favorites are the Coral because they look like they've been painted with water color and my...
It's our last hatch of 2022 and we had some pre-orders back out so now I'm stuck with 60+ Guinea keets, hatched this past weekend. Anyone looking to add Guineas to their flock?! 😅 Priced to move quickly and will discount the more you take.
I recently got into small scale incubating and hatching of chickens and guineas for myself and a few friends. It’s all been very successful. I have three small incubators with various capacities: 41, 24, and 12. I live in the heart of Amish country and have recently built some new relationships...
Thanks! That's a good pointer. While not exactly the same, our sheep recently had a bad case of worms so there is a precedence for that happening on our homestead. Our chickens free range so there are plenty of opportunities to pick up gape worms. More for me to look into. Appreciate the advice!
A little over a week ago, my favorite chicken started developing an odd coughing/sneezing sound and now sounds like the human equivalent of having a sore throat. She is not acting like she is sick and is still laying eggs at her normal rate. I've done 4 days of VetRX as well as added probiotics...
Good luck with the bees! We just caught our fist swarm last weekend. I had to put up a 15 ft ladder in the bed of my truck to get high enough to cut it down. The wind was gusting 20+ MPH so not my brightest idea but it didn't come from our bee yard so it was basically a new, free hive -- and it...
We have an abundance of guinea fowl hatching eggs available ($30/dozen) for pick-up in Clark County, WI. I'm not experienced enough to ship these yet and want to ensure a successful hatch. These eggs will be from our flock that includes a mix of the following varieties: Pearl Gray, White...

I believe they are Royal Purple or...
Glad to see everyone is doing well after the storms last week and the heat the last few days. We had a great hatch this past weekend. We've still got a lot of chicks and keets that need to find a home if anyone is interested (located in Clark County). The chicks are Ameraucana (rooster) x Silver...
We had to say goodbye unexpectedly to our only adult rooster today. I did my normal morning chores and everything was fine. At 10, my wife went out to take care of some other chores and everything was still normal. 30 minutes later I went out to check on her and noticed our rooster had died. He...
Looking for anything in particular? For guineas, I've got around 30 keets due to hatch around June 20th. I'm not experienced enough yet to breed specific colors but the eggs are from my flock that includes Pearl Gray, White, Lavender, Royal Purple, Pinto, Blonde, and Violet. I've also got tons...
Hey everyone! I'm glad to finally have an account after coming here almost daily for answers and ideas the last couple of years.
I grew up around farms when I was younger but traded farm life for high tech city life to build my career. I finally saved enough money to buy a home out in the...
