    Bubbling Eyes

Got another question for ya! So she still has bubbly eyes on some days/not continuously either throughout the day. I feel like we didn't give her enough LA-200 for her size, she's a buff brahma... I'm thinking we should dose her again but I also don't want to overdo the antibiotics. Any idea...

    Bubbling Eyes

Got a question for ya! I gave her the day one and day three dose of LA-200, via injection. Eyes are better, no bubbling. I was wondering about probiotics? I have probiotics i could add to the water, should I do that now or wait until, say day 7?

    Bubbling Eyes

Thanks! I gave her Terramycin for tonight and I'm picking up syringes and needles tomorrow so I can inject instead. I should treat the whole flock at the same time, right? The dosage I've found is 1cc per 5 lbs, inject IM once, then on day 3 inject again. By day 7 they should hopefully stop...

    Bubbling Eyes

Wanting to know the oral dosage for Liquamycin/LA-200 - just found one of my hens with bubbly eyes. I also have Terramycin which I'll use tonight as I'm sure it'll take awhile to get an answer. I don't have any needles on hand or I'd give her a shot. Thanks!

    Pullet Stumbling

How has the St. John's Wort been going? I've had my girl on Lysine for 2 days now, no changes. Eating and drinking really well, but no toe movement. She can just move her legs at the hip. I'd say breathing is better though

    Pullet Stumbling

I've seen that one mentioned! Let me know how it goes! I don't have any on hand but I do have L-Lysine so I was going to try that but now she's not wanting to drink/eat

    Pullet Stumbling

No others with symptoms, I just have 2 other pullets that I brought home with this girl and then my Buff Brahma from my first flock. I think this girl is going down, I'm not seeing much light in her eyes as of this morning

    Pullet Stumbling

I feel the exact same way... I've put so much energy and care into having a flock and it just always ends badly. I got this girl to replace my first flock that was killed by dogs but it seriously feels like it's been problem after problem. My girl is doing worse after this weekend, maybe because...

    Unable to Walk - Help!

Hey guys, I was wanting to make another post to get some new ideas for my pullet and what could be wrong. I'm not 100% sure it's Marek's so I'd like help in ruling some things out. She's maybe 11 weeks old, I've had her and two other pullets since May, so for almost 2 months. I mistakenly...

    Pullet Stumbling

Aww, she has a nice setup! I've saw that video when I was trying to figure out what was wrong with my girl! That video has so much great info. I've got the B Complex paste from Durvet, I believe you can buy it from Tractor Supply but the closest one to me is an hour so I bought it from Amazon a...

    Pullet Stumbling

Aw poor girl! I'm in Northern MN but I grew up in Georgia, so not too far from SC! I absolutely agree with you - this girl would be my second flock of chickens, I've only been raising them for 2 years now, but I swear anything extra just leads to trouble!!! Which sucks because I love to spoil...

    Pullet Stumbling

Oh when I mentioned in a previous comment where she was tired after Poultry Cell I just meant the whole process of - getting her out of her kennel and getting her beak open so I could syringe Poultry Cell slowly, and over a couple of minutes - would wear her out. So not the Poultry Cell itself...

    Pullet Stumbling

I'm sorry to hear that! How old is your girl? I've had really good success with 'mealworm fishing' when they're not drinking much water. You add some mealworms, or even crush them up a little so there's something floating in the water, and then when they reach for the worms they inadvertently...

    Pullet Stumbling

Aw, thank you! At this point after watching Marek's videos all morning I'm leaning toward that. She eats, sorta. Not too interested in water. I also messaged the farm I got her from yesterday and they told me "they do not vaccinate against Marek's at this time"... so that's my fault for not...

    Pullet Stumbling

Thanks for checking in! We ran out last night and got her all flock feed, some vitamin e, sunflower seeds, fresh spinach - just some basic vitamin rich foods for her to try. She didn't like anything except the sunflower seeds, she doesn't like eggs unfortunately but I was thinking of maybe...

    Pullet Stumbling

Thank you! I'll try to get a video later today, just gave her some Nutri Drench orally so she's a bit tired at the moment. I'll try to get her to move later today. Poop looks fine, solid, normal color. She looked worse this morning than yesterday, closing her eyes and laying on her side. I tried...

    Pullet Stumbling

Need some help for a young pullet who has recently lost her ability to walk and is stumbling. I brought home three approx. 8 week old pullets about 2 months ago, I noticed they had blood in their poop so my mind jumped to cocci and I started them on a Corid treatment for a week, then the next...

    Dog Attack/Lone Hen

Thank you! I'm also on the fence at the moment about buying her chicks, would that be helpful/would it stress her out and then be more work for me? We don't have electricity in the coop so they'd be inside until feathered. It's still in the 30s here too so they would be inside awhile. Gretchen...

    Dog Attack/Lone Hen

The Turkens are about 2 years old but they're socialized very well, which is something I really value next to egg production! Gotta be able to pick them up (to cuddle or just do a check up on easily). I had guineas for awhile and I could not imagine having a hurt guinea you need to care for and...
