Okay, so... Yes, I still think it's just moulting. Some rabbits can go practically bald from it. Friend of mine had a doe do just that. If there are no underlying problems, I say leave it be.
I agree that you should be letting them figure things out between themselves unless blood *is*...
That all depends on how cooperative the hidden and non hidden genes are, lol! I have the basics, it's just putting them all together which could be one generation, or five. At least a rabbit generation can be every six months.
Mine actually preferred to dunk themselves in the snow as opposed to the water. They were very disappointing when Spring came. Each day there was less and less snow, and they pouted about it.
Tri Standard Rexes??
The fun in making the tricolours is that you need a specific combination of genes to get them, *plus* a specific type of broken for good markings. Blanket/booted brokens are preferred, and you need to have Harlequin.
I also love red rabbits, so working on those, too...
Finally 'warming' up. Although the wind chill is still bad. It's -9 right now, feels like -14. Beats the -30!!
Going to get better as the week goes on, with expected 0 on Sunday! I may wear a bikini! 🤣
Have a total of 28 baby bunnies, including the ones born a few days ago. Not all of...
Yeah, currently around -21c here right now, with a -31 windchill.
I *really* want winter to be over and done with!!!
Oh, and I hurt my back shoveling earlier, as well as had a minor asthma attack due to the cold air.
They're in a heated barn, with lots of fluff in the nest. The group pic was taken when my friend took them out to clean up any bloody straw.
There are also two more due today/tomorrow, and one more kindled today although they aren't my does. But the father for two of the litters is mine. So...
Apart from weather, not much happening over here. But where my rabbits are being boarded, that's another story!!!
Brie, my Belgian Hare, gave birth to NINE lively, squiggly kits!!!
More so the Partridge. They were developed independently in another part of the country, but when presented as a breed it was decided to lump them in with the Chantecler.
